Writing or Blogging?

Write, write, write or blog, blog, blog- that is the question, now! Well seems the answer is yes, yes and yes. You should do both but not overdo it (the blogging I mean). What is overdue? The million dollar question. What gets the public and your fans excited to read you but not too excited so that it burns out before your book is out. On a guest blog post for SFWA Victoria Straus of Writers Beware did the promotion as she was just getting a contract. So, this seems to work for her. She speaks of 2 years before the book is out. As a new writer that sound so long. I am researching now and articles are said to take months. When will the speed of the internet catch up? Are only blogs instantaneous? I's be willing to wait a week or so, so the e-zine editor could look it over, but why months, quarters even years? Something is off here.
